Oh the colour and texture is fantastic |
A: |
Biological |

P: |
It should be easy to see these pavement pieces in the context of those
triumphs of American painting. |
S: |
More history? |
P: |
Well I always preferred Mark Tobey to Jackson Pollock. Tobey made small
paintings with a zen like concentration, an approach which I saw as oppositional
to JP's massive pieces. |
S: |
So you've been here before? |
P: |
Oh yes, I try to escape myself, but in truth you can't |
M: |
And your saying that these pieces originate from Tobey? |
A: |
Re invention, it's the hardest thing. Most people mine a familiar niche
and then find that they have dug so deep that they can no longer see the
original entrance, then there is no escape. |
P: |
But we must try |
A: |
So how about this |
